1. How Does Cellerate differ from other collagen products?

Cellerate is a collagen hydrolysate polypeptide manufactured to exact specifications. The patented collagen fragments are a fraction of the size of the native collagen molecules and particles found in other products, delivering the benefits of collagen to the body immediately.

2. Does Cellerate have to be removed with each dressing change from the wound site?

No, Cellerate is biodegradable and synthetic free and does not require removal from wound site.

3. What are the indications for use of Cellerate?

Cellerate's indications for use include:

  • Pressure ulcers stage II through IV
  • Traumatic wounds
  • Diabetic ulcers
  • 1st and 2nd degree burns
  • Venous stasis ulcers
  • Ulcers due to arterial insufficiency
  • Superficial wounds

Yes. It is recommended that infected wounds be treated per facility protocol.

5. Can Cellerate be used in the tunnels or undermined area of a wound?

Yes, Cellerate is ideal for hard to reach wounds. The powder and the gel will conform to a wound of any size or shape. And since it is biocompatible and biodegradable, it does not need to be removed from the wound bed.

7. What type of collagen is Cellerate? What is it's origin?

Cellerate is Type I hydrolyzed collagen and is derived from BSE-Free bovine sources. There are over 14 types of collagen that have thus far been characterized. As the chief structural protein of the body, these types of collagen are distinguished on the basis of their chemical differences. The most important types of collagen are I through V, with Type I collagen being the most abundant type in the human body, at more than 90%. Cellerate is Type I hydrolyzed collagen and is derived from BSE-Free bovine sources.

Apply Cellerate to the wound and cover with a non-stick dressing that maintains the optimum moisture level of the wound bed.

Yes, Cellerate may be used on first and second degree burns. Collagen insulates nerve endings to reduce pain and minimizes the potential for scarring.

11. Are there any special storage requirements?

No. It is recommended that Cellerate be stored at room temperature. Protect from freezing.
