Diagnosis
Patient admitted to skilled nursing facility with a chronic non-healing sacral ulcer of many years (actual duration unknown).

Wound measurements:

4cm X 3.5 cm with 90% slough.
Initiation of CellerateRX gel covered with a semi-occlusive dressing.

Wound measurements unchanged:

Slough has decreased to 40% and granulation tissue has increased. Wound edges are pink.


9-26-01

Wound measurements unchanged:

2.7cm x 2.3cm 25% slough and 75% granular tissue. CellerateRX powder added to dressing mixed with CellerateRX gel.

Wound measurements unchanged:

1.2cm x 1.7cm 100% granular tissue. Continued with CellerateRX powder/gel mix.

Wound measurements unchanged:

.5cm x .2cm.
Healthy pink granular tissue and epithelial tissue visible at edges.


11-21-01

Ulcer closed by reepithelialization.


Conclusion: The use of CellerateRX achieved complete closure of the chronic non-healing pressure wound without complication in a timely manner.
