Diagnosis
Patient experienced a thermal burn (steam) of the right medial arm and leg. Wounds were dressed in the local emergency department with Silvadeen and gauze. Patient kept the initial dressing in place for 48 hours, and then seen for the first time at his primary care physician's office.


Arm: 1st & 2nd Degree Burn

Leg: 1st & 2nd Degree Burn

Initial treatment with CellerateRX Gel:

Patient's initial visit to primary care physician's office. Silvadeen removed from the wound. CellerateRX gel applied to the wound and covered with a semi-occlusive film. Patient instructed to cleanse wounds daily and reapply the CellerateRX gel.

10-2-01: Patient returned one week later with positive feedback of decreased pain and discomfort with the use of CellerateRX. Wounds responding well to treatment.

10-9-01: Patient discharged with complete reepithelialization of wounds and without complications.


Conclusion: The use of CellerateRX achieved complete closure of the extensive burns wounds without complication and with significant decrease in pain and discomfort. Patient reported no scarring after the injury.
